2. We ask those people who could be particularly susceptible to negative words like "corpse", "pedophile", "abuse", "cemetery", "amputation", etc., not point to this experiment.
In this study we investigate how emotional valence (negative, neutral) of words capture attention.
The experiment will consist of a computerized task in which participants will be presented with spoken words (for which they will need to wear a headset). Words, spoken by a male or a female, will be presented either to the left or the right ear. Participants will perform a gender voice decision task: for example, male-spoken words will require a left-hand button press, and female-spoken words will require a right-hand button press.
